They say it cant be done...

Yeah, i mean this thing is WAY to small to do a single turbo on this engine, im contemplating doing a twin turbo setup because im getting another t25 for the cost of shipping, but then again, i am also thinking just rebuild them, sell them and buy a bigger turbo.

it can be done, it will run and be faster than it was, but
1. fall of hard on the top end
2. over work that turbo
3. will most likely need a big external WG
id say sell them and get a bigger decent used turbo with a t3 flange, or test your luck with a ching chong ebay t3/mani setup.

Is it a DSM T25? That turbo chokes off the top end on the 2.0l engine it comes on. You can't really compare A/R without other information. A turbo off a semi truck can have the same A/R as that tiny T25, but they will be completely different turbos.
I think M27 is just a casting number, you'll have to get some measurements for us to be able to help you.

i found this on a volov forum

No cars came with hybrid garret turbos that I'm aware of. M27 is a casting number and could be on any number of different turbos or turbo parts. For example the T3's off of dodges have MXX cast into the compressor and MX cast into the turbine and the O2 housing. If they are off of an older volvo/saab they will likely be a T3 variant.
Some early volvos came with a decently sized turbine and compressor. As time went on they went to smaller turbos to help out spool up. They will probably be ok on a 2.5, but 250-300hp will be pushing them to their limits. Twins could work nice, but TT's are stupid unless you have to. Using a single standard T3 footprint will allow you to go to bigger turbos later on.

thank you for contributing to the conversation, you are a credit to the community. If you read the whole thread you would see that i have dumped the t25 idea, and its not even a t25, its a 13t/g
