recently i bought a td04h-15g that was blown and a broken shaft and came with an exhaust manifold

it is from the greddy kit for the miatas
and these manis and dp's are very hard to source
though they are obtainable

since i gotta get a new shaft i was thinking about going to my local junkyard who is having a half off sale this weekend and i could pick up any td04h and grab the shaft from that

according to this http://hem.passagen.se/lahi/turbo/TD04.pdf the h represent the shaft
if its got an h its the same shaft

but since these mani's can be hard to source i was thinking
what td04's out there in oem applications have common flanges?
specifically wanting a td04 since i have a rebuild kit and i can get one from my junkyard for 35 bucks tomorrow

acording to this http://gpopshop.com/products-page/re...e-rebuild-kit/ all i have to do is make sure it has a flatback compressor wheel

suggestions of an oem td04 with a common exhaust and downpipe flange woiuld be very much appreciated

Volvo T5 use that turbo, the cold side can be swapped from 15g, 16t, 18t or 19t

there were ZERO turbos at the junkyard
i found a blown td04h-13c
im thinking about buying that and hoping the coldside will swap over
i know its smaller
thats cool
im not going for max performance here
this setup is for the sake of learning

spot on except for the 19T, which needs an adapter I believe.

what sort of adapter does the 19t need?, I wasn't aware of that.

Actually my error. I didn't realize he asked in regards to volvo turbo(s). He'll be fine with the above selections.

No, you were right, I mentioned the Volvo turbos but OP just asked about td04 in general.

Well from my quick reads, as long as the turbo is T25 ( td04 housing ) flanged it will bolt up. From the choices above. Anything w/ a diff flange ( td05 housing ) will need an adapter.

yes td04's in general
and i got that td04h-13c and am swapping the cold side while the exhaust side on my td03 isnt too common the one on the 13c would absolutely have to be a custom pipe

and i was mostly refering to the exit side

Yes you can upgrade the exhaust housing making it ideally the same as a 19T.
