Teflon or not
so i'm going to install a oil press. gauge tommrow with one of tuner toys take offs. i've heard mixed reports about using teflon tape with any oil fittings involved.
What do you guys think/recomend, and whats the reasoning? |
Re: Teflon or not
If you are using NPT fitting, telfon is required. The "T" mean taper fit, which does not seal.
You don't use teflon on flare fittings, like -AN and such. |
Re: Teflon or not
I used it on the block fitting, 2.748279798745 years strong, and growing.

Re: Teflon or not
Just make sure you wrap the tape correctly. It should only be wrapped one way.

Re: Teflon or not
just dont use it on extremely high heat or gas lines

Re: Teflon or not
I use that or pipe dope. Just don't go overboard and get it in the oil.
