I just rebuilt the turbo and used some peoples advice on lowering oil pressure to the turbo and I still use alot of oil and it smokes like crazy, cops pulled me over and said I cant drive it until I get the oil problem fixed please help

 

You sure its not burning off oil somewherelse? Thats weird that itd smoke that much on a rebuilt turbo just from oil pressure.

 

I dont know where it is burning off to be honest, I would assume the turbo since that is what I just put on. but any suggestions are welcome I have a race in under a week and I need to get this stuff figured out, thanks for any help

 

Check your lines. Check and make sure you dont have oil in the charge pipes. Check your plugs and see if you got oil in the chamber? I dunno weird. Maybe the seals are just blown to hell. Check up in the downpipe for oil.

 

I took the air filter off and I have oil coming out the front of the compressor housing going into the filter, it is slinging oil through the charge pipes and up through the engine, my exhaust pipes are covered in oil. but I have run it enough to know that it isnt the old oil still burning off. blows smoke at low speeds and idle .....

 

whats your oil pressure at idle and low rpm?

 

oil pressure to turbo is 15psi @ idle, gauge is underhood so I dont know what psi it is getting to

 

you sure it ain't your piston rings.... you never know.

 

How big is the return to the oil pan? the stock one is about 1/2 ID, you may want to check that. To much backressure.

 

how are you venting the crankcase?
