If you had any skill, you'd notice that was a zero not the letter O. I've found it came on a 1.7L diesel, meaning its probably a baby turbo for a gasoline (sorry, "petrol") engine. But the problem is that Europeans use the intarweb for posting useless information and part/serial numbers, not useful facts or info like flowmaps or something SIMPLE like how much brake horsepower a stupid Astra DTi (uses that turbo) makes.

You're best off pulling the tubrine and compressor covers off and measuring the small/large sizes and posting the data. Then we can tell you just how small that turbo is. ******.

BTW why do so many Europeans use the term Brake Horsepower to describe what they see on their dynos, when BHP means power off the crank w/o drivetrain losses?

Right ive decided to now get a td04-11g turbo ive actually done some proper research on this turbo and it looks like it will be a lot more suitable and should flow alot better at higher rpms than the tiny td025m,

Only problem is this one doesnt come with the manifold or downpipe section so im going to have to do a little bit more fabrication.

The td04-11g is still a tiny *** turbo. It'll flow enough air to make maybe 160hp, but only 135ish without straining it. You'll be running one of the PAIR that the twin-turbo 3000GT (Mitsubishi GTO in Europe?) uses, and that's only 300hp at the crank.

Why are you even considering such small turbos? Do you have a tiny displacement motor? I didn't see anything about what it's going on. Either way, if you're on a tight budget you can still get a larger turbo that will have quick spool and an actual top end. You mentioned high rpm's and then say you're getting an 11B? WTF mate? There isn't anything high rpm about a TD04 turbo. Maybe a 15g or 16t, but still.

Mitsu turbos are weird too. I mean they're good and all, but are small. Even a TD05H turbine wheel (14b, 16g, etc) looks puny next to a stock Garrett turbine wheel out of a small T3 like a 48/42 45 trim. The trim is just so short compared to a Garrett unit. I suggest you look around for a T3 as they can be had for next to nothing. I bought a Chrysler .48/.42 off CL for $20 the other week. One would think a Mitsu turbo would be more reliable because it's oil/water cooled and comes with a 360 thrust bearing, but even the oil cooled 270 degree Garrett T3's go forever. My dad's Saab has 350k on it and the oil cooled only t3 is still going strong and doesn't smoke at all. The same good things can't be said for T2's, but T3's are where it's at for 300hp> levels.

I had a look on the tech projects bit on here and it said the td04 turbo's are good and should be ok on a d16z6 stock internals and all that.
Im only aiming for 180bhp to 200bhp max and i thought a td04 would do that no probs, also is it better than the td025 turbo?

Some TD04 turbos are alright, but not an11b. I think the most famous of TD04 turbos is the 15g that came on the Drag kits. It's probably what those folks were referring to. It is still very small. I'm telling you, T3 is the best choice by far. An 11b absolutely will not huff out a reliable 180-200whp if at all. I haven't seen a map of one, but they are terribly small.

Now a T3, even an old 45 trim off a Saab or Dodge or Peugeot (may be 40 trim) will still offer instant torque and will be very comfortable at the levels you're wanting. People also claim T25's are great for a D-series lol. It's all in what you expect. If you're looking for a turbo that falls right on its face after it hits full boost; then by all means, go with the tiny turbo. Now if you want a good solid turbo that can easily make 200whp without breaking a sweat then GET A ------- T3 FOR THE LOVE OF ALL THAT IS HOLY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

OK ive read and understood everything youve put which is a great help by the way the only problem i have is finding out what cars (in europe!) came with a T3 turbo, if i could find a list on the internet or something that shows all the cars that have a suitable T3 i would get one but i dont think such a list exsists unfortunately.

Old Saabs had T3's, and older diesel volvo's had fairly large snails. Get one of those.
