"Chipping the ECU yourself, will cost you about $175" Cost me under $100, that includes chip burner, chips, and stuff to chip it.

I would get this burner:
https://www.homemadeturbo.com/forum/...threadid=20083

but if you're a baller on a budget, get this one:

Also, I think your car in stock form would take that POS. What does that ZX2 weigh?

Well for one thing a ZX2 Has alot more torque than his car. It is a 2.0 DOHC. I have rode in one and they arn't that bad on power. As far as quality they are lacking. Just turbo your car and beat his ***. Put an FMU on it so you can kick his *** quickly. Thats the fastest way to do it. But not really the best way to do it.

How much more torque? It still weighs alot more than his DX hatch. Power strokes have like 400ft.lbs of torque, but a stock DX hatch will smoke it.

There's no way a turbo Honda would loose to an N/A ZX2. This is the first noobie post with no flaming at all, its odd to see the HMT family to show restraint. :P

Unlike popular opinion on places like Honda tech, you can build a ghetto as ---- setup thats reliable as hell. It all comes down to fuel management. If you have a good A/F ratio, conservative timing and don't ---- around with the boost levels, it'll be reliable.

It seems to me that you and your friend are about in the same "knowledge" boat. Both of you drive compact cars and are new to the game. The greatest thing about a honda is the support for them. I would have to say that there is a bigger "performance" following to hondas then any other import.

You need to do some research on your own. You're pretty much borderline being an annoyance to the other members here, I too am suprised nobody has fucked with you. Everything that needs to be done to your car to make it faster then an escort (wasn't that what u were racing). ---- my mostly stock volvos could somke those cars, you won't have to spend much or do that much crazy work.

Well that's assuming he doesn't know how to do any soldering or electronic work, which I think I might be correct on that one , and he has to buy everything to start.

Batronix Eprom Programmer 4 $130.00
Good Soldering gun & the suction thingy to desolder $25.00
Chips, probably $4 or $5 a piece let say he gets 3 $15.00
Zif sockets and such other misc. $ 8.00
$178.00

He might find someone to do it for free, but most of us are DIY so we woul try to do it ourselves, if he decides to he might need to buy everything to beggin with. I already have most of the equipment so I could do it cheaper.
Of course you could find a cheaper programer or even someone to burn it for you, but if you plan on tuning the car an changing maps and such, you should buy one to use whenever you want.

o i know that a turbo dx would ---- on a zx2 thats why im doing it to show the "For Only Real Drivers" attitude havin dick that its not a mustang its a shity domestic import and the real imports are the way to go.

my sodering skill or up to par i used to work for a company that built connectors and wires and ---- for recording studios and now i rebuild batters so i plan on doing it my self.

and so far im in it for 300ish for the turbo mani ic and tubes so 178 is ok with me. keepin it around 600 is what im shooting for so looks like im good
