T3 turbo compressore housing matching
Hey guys, I have the Saab 9000 turbocharger on my car now but it has lots of end plays in it. I was looking on ebay but found a different T3 that looks like this
Now as you see, this turbo in the picture and my turbo the same A/R ratio and both are T3. The only different part that I can see is the compressor housing where air is supplied. On the picture it showed a 3 bolt air inlet, but mine has a round tip that you can use a rubber coupler and clamp it into place.
My question comes to if I could get this turbo and just swap my compressore housing onto the turbo in the picture and still have that outlet coming off the exact same place and angle as my turbo is?[

Re:T3 turbo compressore housing matching
so all I should have to do is swapping my compressor housing and it'll run the same spect too, right? How about the compressor wheel size? if it's the same air ratio as mine, wouldn't it be the same size?

Re:T3 turbo compressore housing matching
ya afaik the wheel needs to be the same stage. probably a stage 1. check to make sure. i.e. thunderbird/merkur/svo turbos have a t3 stage1 wheel, so you can put on any t3 housing but it must be for a stage 1 wheel. theres a chart somewhere that shows all the wheels, trims, and stages. you probably wont measure as exact as their spec, but close enough is fine.
