i have a 48/60 on my y8 and in 2nd gear i make full boost 10 psi at 3k, my tunner thinks this turbo is actually to small, if you wana make big numbers...i used to have a 50/63 and that was spooled like at 4.5k, but it hit really hard! dunno where this other person is getting their info, this is a fast spooling turbo...

Huh. Is this the OEM GN turbo, or an aftermarket unit? Those T04B compressor houing specs are awful familiar, but I may be confused - not a GN guy

The T3/T04B hybrid with the usual "stage 3" turbine wheel and "stage 3" .48 AR turbine housing is going to be a good bit laggier because the turbine wheel is a lot bigger and requires more flow to get it up to speed. If you have the OEM Grand National unit, I suspect it would spool up quicker due to smaller turbine side despite having "the same" turbine housing specs.

10.5 psi at 3700rpm in 3rd gear on a d16y8 using the .42/.48. I think your on crack.

I run a t3/t04b vtrim with a stage 1 .48 hotside. It's starts spooling at 3k and full boost by 5k, imo it's perfect. Gives you a swift kick in the *** when it hits full boost.

LOL. See, I can never tell the difference in a T3 .48/.60 and then like a hybird .48/.50. The hybrids should be bigger thus more CFM and lag correct? However, the a/r is less in the hybrid. Is there a link to explain this? I only ask because I was going to rock a .63/.60 next, but hybrid might be better for lag control. Thank you!

The v trim has a .63 comp wheel and I know exactly what you mean, I really don't understand it either. Say a .57 trim t04e is bigger then a 60 trim t3. The wheel is definately bigger in the t04e.

i'm currently running t3/t4E 50trim .48ar i must say i'm still very happy with it. previously i ran the t3 60trim, which i think has great mid tourque but top end was kinda weak. also, i dunno if maybe it was a combonation of my parts and suspension but the monster mid tourque of the t3 60trim was almost too much sometimes and i would experience massive wheel hop and smokey burnouts... it took some serious concentration with the throttle.
