T3, T-25, RHB5 Spool Range?
I was just wondering if anyone had the spool stats/range on these turbos? I was going 2 boost w/ the IHI off a probe for the low end spool but am now considering a T-25. Would this be a better choice? Im not to big on T3s, I know there faved but would I still stomp w/ the t-25? Thanx
8.4/1 compression, HF manifold, 2 1/4'' DP, stock exhuast, and running pig rich my TD04L-13T turbo makes 5psi at 2200rpms and 10psi/full boost by 3000rpms, and it doesn't run outta air at 7000rpms either... I'm amazed by it...
sorry I don't have a honda, but I used a Probe IHI on my 1.6 DOHC Toyota 9.4:1 compression, factory 112HP, the car has a factory redline of 7500, and normally uses a valve arrangement to improve bottom end. I disabled the valve (TVIS) so my car sorta sucked in the bottom end, but it would make full boost by 3500 and hold it til redline no problem. At 7.5 psi my car made 166 HP at the wheels @6950 RPM which is about 75 HP over stock.
I later switched to a different head, and lower compression pistons 8.9:1, the head had mild supercharger cams from an MR2, I now hit full boost by 2500, but if feels kind of flat up top, I think the only reason it feels flat is the cams are geared more for torque and efficiency.
I think my first setup was pretty close to the limits with the little IHI, I wouldn't put it on a stock motor bigger than 1.6L with much more than 110 HP from the factory, I think anything bigger would just outbreath the little turbo, big boost spikes down low and boost dropping off up top.
