Finally i gotta t3... was looking for a T28 but found a T3 for cheap so picked it up..

Question:

On the T3, the internal wastegate flapper is in the exhaust(downpipe). Must i upgrade to a external if im to use a aftermarket downpipe, or when i get the downpipe made up should i get the flapper made into the downpipe. Heres a pic of someones turbo on this forums, but looks the same.

 

well it looks like u either need to by a t3 swingvalve/swingate assimbily(internal wastegate). or by a block off plate and put ur downpipe to that(external wastegate). if u go with the internal wg it should have a 3 bolt flange to contect the downpipe to. buy a flange to match the one on the swingvalve and then build ur dp off of that. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...category=33742 the piece with 5 bolt holes,or on the right in the 2nd pic.,is what u would need for an external wg. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...category=33742 and this for an internal wg.

Email the seller and ask if those are for standard ford style or chrysler. They are different sizes. I ordered 2 flanges without knowing that there was a difference. There sure is! the Chrysler style is larger btw.

 

I have a Ford wastegate flapper housing and actuator if you're interested.
