Default t3 boost problems

im running my t3 (.42 .4 with no wg but the most i boost is about 7 psi,i know i have an exhaust leak but other than that thers no other leaks.and there are no leaks on the charge pipes either. why cant i boost more is that all the turbo can do ?

before i took off the wg the turbo wouldnt kick in until about 3500 rpms but now it kicks in at like 4500 rpms and goes all the way to redline is that normal ?

As I understand it an external wastegate opens @ a certain pressure that is dictated by the wastgate spring. Which in effect limts your psi to the rating of the spring. So if U've eliminated that ceiling by disabling your WG, then yes I would expect your turbo would keep rising.

But this sounds kinda KamaKazi(sp). How can your fuel Mgt. keep up with a rising pressure. MayB try out an XS manual Boost controller. A single stage setup can be had for <$100.

I would suggest checking those pipes, connector hoses and clamps again and intercooler if applicable. Also, if you run an air filter with your compressor inlet, take it off and see if you boost higher withou it. Some filters can be very restrictive. Also, check for maximum boost in 3rd gear, not 5th, since is very difficult to get max boost in 5th. If no improvement, check your exhaust back pressure.

don't listen to him

your exhaust leak is the big reason why your not boosting, is the leak before or after the turbo? is the turbo internally or externally wastegated?

I'm not telling him to disable his WG. He already did it.
