Default T25 with D16Z6 any problems? (long question!) :)

Hey all,
I'm a little new here but I've been reading your posts and checking out the sight and I love it! I'm so excited to do a turbo setup on my car it's not even funny. It's all I can think about. I want to get this turbo installed quickly and I'm just wondering what I ABSOLUTELY NEED to get it to run and run safely and well. OK here's my question... I have a 93 civic dx coupe and I'm gonna be swapping out the motor soon for a d16z6 w/ stock internals (except for a performance cluth I think). After reading your posts and everything on this site I've pretty much decided to go with a T25 turbo. My first question is, is that a good choice and what PSI does it come with stock and is it ok for my stock d16z6?
Next I'm thinking I want an intercooler so I may go with the starion one but I'd like a tyrus or something.
Next I want an hks ssq bov, i know I don't NEED it but i'd rather have it for future boosting options.
Next I need the header. What header is best to use and can I get it premade?
Next (ugh my fingers hurt) where can I get ALL the gaskets that I need to do this stuff? I know I need one for the header connecting to the block, the turbo connecting to the header, and the turbo connecting to the downpipe, what else?
Next, how easy is it to get a downpipe made for the car once the turbo is in?
Next is... do I need anything along the lines of bigger injectors? (Keep in mind I'm only looking for the stuff I absolutely need to get this turbo safe and running well)
Next... do I need any kind of boost controller or fuel controller for the amount of boost I will be running? I'm not sure if its 8psi with the t25 or not but I would like to start off with 6-7psi if thats possible with the t25.
HOLY ----! OK i think that's it. If anyone can answer all this stuff then I will **** my pants. And THANK YOU for anyones help. I want to make sure I get this turbo setup right, blowing my engine would be the worst thing for me right now! Thank you again for anyones help. If anyone wants to email me anything my email is specialk@dangerouscrewcustoms.com

you ARE going to need a fuel mgmnt of some sort.

depending on money there are 3 basic options..

#1 (and most expensive, but most accurate)
- Standalone fuel mgmnt. Like Hondata. You "tune" your car on a dyno for exact readings.

#2 second most accurate.
- use larger injectors (450cc) and a SAFC or VAFC. Allows you to manipulate injectors in rpm increments of 1000/500.

#3 third most accurate.
- using stock injectors and a high flow/psi fuel pump use a FMU unit. These work by rasing fuel psi a preset amount PER psi of boost. vortec fmu 12:1 raises fuel 12psi per 1psi of boost.. no adjustablility then that.

Thanks crs88si! Now with that Vortech FMU, is their a difference between rising rate fmu or are they all the same? If I do get that I will get the 12:1. Thanks, anymore help with my question would be greatly appreciated!

You can boost 5-6psi with stock fuel set up and a missing link.If you run this run an intercooler and a blow off valve.Defenitly get a boost gage and an air/fuel mixture gage. Also get a manuel boost controller so you can lower boost as most turbos are set at about 7to 9psi.As for a down pipe you can have an exhaust shop piece you one together.

Thanks. I have so many guages in my car! Air/Fuel, Boost, Water Temp, Tach, Oil Temp, Oil Pres. I have one more question about the setup. Where do I connect the coolant lines? I've heard and seen people talking about tapping into their antifreeze lines that go into the intake manifold but once I do that where do they connect to the turbo? Thanks all.

Just reroute the coolant lines that go to throttle body, so they go through the turbo's coolant holes, and then route it back to the throttle body. Just make another loop.

One last thing you can't lower boost lower than than what its stock wastegated with a boost controller you need to look into treading the wastegate arm or a carb spring everything you will need to know it is the FAQ so read it.

turbo header is called a turbo manifold, best place to get one is have one made at a good exhaust shop or buy one from the classified's/internet or you can use a hf manifold and adaptor plate or you can make one.

gaskets: you can get most at advanced auto/autozone.. i get the cheap felpro ones, for other turbo ones the parts usually come with them (you named about all the ones you need unless you have an external wastgate)

downpipe - take the car to an exhaust shop and give them the turbo exhaust flange, they will make you one for $40ish (i just make my own from pieces of pipe and a mig welder)

fuel management - get an afc and larger injectors or a standalone and larger injectors .. fmu's suck chode and thats all there is to it
