Question Switched bov's, now surging?

Ok well I recently went from a turboxs rfl to an hks ssqv, and now Im sure Im hearing compressor surge. Its the hks version 2 that doesnt have an adjusting screw. Its the same vacuum source, same spot as the old bov and all. I know people have had problems with the hks fluttering at lower rpms and what not, but mine doesnt even seem to be fluttering cause the valve opns/closes fine and then I hear the compressor surge very slightly sometimes it doesnt even do it.

Im running a purple insert which kind of changes the sound to more of a fluttering sound than the normal chirp, so the surge kind of blends in afterward but its there. Im gona get the normal insert to see if its more normal, and I even have a fw good friends with an hks that will let me try to them tro see if mine may be defective or something. First Im gona try a direct source to my manifold instead of going to the vacume manifold to see if that does anything.

I didnt realy have this problem after first putting it on, is there anything inside that can be adjusted or greased or anything? Had to add some grease to my rfl after a while as it was sticking. Just trying to get some ideas before buying a different bov.

try greasing it up. alot of people have said bad things about that bov. most problems are solved by greasing them up. ive also heard of people trimming some of the spring down

Thanks for the info though.

Take it apart and the spring in side just make sure the spring is not binding, clean lubricate should fix the problem

I know surging at that low rpm isnt too bad, but I dont like it. I can hear/feel the valve blow off close all the way, then surging right at the turbo very slightly. I tried taking it apart to inspect it but those tiny nuts strip pretty easily. Im picking up a 'spare' from a friend, so I can Ill have an extra incase I mess it up.

I plan to cut the spring down a tiny bit, and regrease the valve which I can see needs it when I tried taking it apart.

No only the first style hks ssqv's have an adjustment. The next version and the newest which is made now are not adjustable. Im thinking it realy just needs to be lubricated just like my rfl did after a while, I just cant get the damn thing apart.
