a box is used to pressurize the whole carb so it does not leak but if you seal it with some jb weld there will be very little if any leaks

right, lol gotcha. i understand the whole pressurized box, my question was what is the method for stopping a vacumn fed carb from squirting fuel back into the tank under boost. i read somewhere about using a fuel pump and a pressure regulator. how would this setup work though ?

usually with blow through setups, the box or carb hat is used with multiple 1/8" vac/boost lines coming off of it. when in boost, these lines are run to areas of carb that leak fuel under boost i.e. the throttle plate shaft. the pressurized air comingn from above the carb keeps the fuel from leaking under boost. never had a carbed setup before, but thats what i read

cheers matey, your a star

its a single bell mouthed carb, im gonna box the whole thing so the pressure will be equal around the carb so no fuel leak and with the regualtor traction just put me onto it should be fine. then its just jetting it right with an A/F ratio meter

im gonna try using the suck through method first actually. seems a lot simpler to construct. no intercooler/BOV etc. my question is though, is it really safe to run A/F mix through a turbo unit ? couldnt the turbo ignite the mix?

get two pieces of PVC and JB weld one between the head and carb...put a slanted piece of PVC running into the larger piece, angle it towards the head hook youre pump up to it and drill/buy the jets to dump in some fuel

drawl through setups are prone to iceing of the air/fuel mixture at outside temps of less than 50 degrees. it is perfectly ok to suck air/fuel mixture through the turbo and blow it into the motor, however.. if it is less than 50 degrees outside, the mixture can get so cold that it can freeze the throttle blades open.
