Default super quick spool~WTF~

ok i just got done fixing the return line problem i had. so we drove it around the block couple times and notice that at 3000rpm on 1/4 throttle, its boosting 7-8psi, and at 3500-4000rpm on half throttle, its boosting 9-10psi. i dont think it shouldnt be boosting so much at such little load.

SETUP

d16y8 w/ CX TRANNY (Long-*** gearings)
t25~stock actuator
open downpipe
fmic
check vavles & fmu

what ever happen to stock 8psi settings? in the past i had a tiny rhb5 on my d15b7 but this is spooling hella quick. my friend said it could be the cx tranny and that its giving a heavier load forcing quicker spoolage i dont know....help. this ---- is boosting way to soon with barely any throttle. probably a fucked up boost gauge...

the open down pipe might be contributing.
also, loosen the actuator rod if possible. sounds like the boost might be too high, especially if you decide to mash the throttle.

my t25 spools pretty quick but not that quick.. your boost will be way off until you get a downpipe on it. i drove mine a few times open turbo and it wouldnt hold 8psi for ----.. once i got DP on it, it holds 8 PSI all day long

i know its normal for a small turbo to spool quick but i had a rhb5-open downpipe setup last year and yea~spooled pretty dam quick cause of its size but i was expecting more lag with the t25 but its spooling way quicker than the rhb5. hmmm...

Yep, there is definately a difference due to the "lack" of exhaust Last weekend I did a few basic dyno runs and wasn't satisfied with my results. I know this thing should be doing better. I started with the exhaust, and decided to remove it for now and run an open DP. I don't drive this thing daily so I won't be getting ticketed, but I can't beleive the difference in spool time, acceleration, and overall peformance of it. I'll definately be upgrading to a 3" DP and exhaust setup.

You can not compare a D15B7 to a D16Y8...try to put the RHB5 on the Y8...it will spool quicker then the T25.
