Being different is great and all, but there's usually a good reason everyone flocks to one thing or another.

I don't know what year yours is, but I've never seen any good from sunfires. On the other hand, I've had 3 hondas over 200k miles without any more than general maintenance, and they ran just fine.

If you want something domestic, get something with *****. If you must sit with something 4cyl, at least get an ecotec?

We answered your question and offered some advice that the engine is a POS. Go ahead and spend the money on a manifold and parts for an engine that isn't going to last long. I hope you don't think it's a smart idea to spend money on a POS that's going to die and cost you more money. If you DO think it's a good idea, go ahead and boost it, I like seeing engines fail.

You're going to end up with a useless engine and a bunch of parts for a sunfire that nobody else in their right mind is going to waste money on. Suddenly, spending the price on a honda engine sounds so much better... What do you mean they're overpriced? B or D series block you might spend 100. If you "blew it" the only thing you would have had to buy was a block ($100), pistons and rods (OEM is cheap), and MAYBE a head ($100-200). Guess what? You'd still have a slow car but parts would be easier to find and you'd have something that would most likely outlook that sunfires quad.

I'm Just Curious, but what makes the motor so weak? Does it have a open deck aluminum block or somthing?

Fact: There were no Sunfires in the Fast & Furious.

engine is not weak at all.

closed deck iron block. mine was taking 250whp for 6 months before i blew it up on my OWN stupidity.

ecotecs actually arn't any stronger stock for stock so don't waste your time.
