didnt i see a thred here on hmt about somone useing ls rods in like a d16 because the stroke was so close, im not saying there stong, but alot better than d series and inexpencive, get some arp rod bolts and do the mod lol, unless u have some money or a d15, then just buy some cheap or used forged rods, and get some decent pistons like weisco or srp. -blake

yes, ls rods in d16 blocks has been done several times.

are they stronger? yes
are they as strong as a forged rod? no

PLEASE ONLY USE USDM ECUS FOR UBERDATA OR CROME. Blundar noticed quirks in how cars ran with JDM ECUs like the worthless P08, somehow the lack of certain circuitry and the code required to disable it throws off timing and AFRs. Sell that P08 to somebody who likes "JDM V-TECH Y0!!1" for as much as you can squeeze them for, because they deserve it.

Make sure the oil on that plug isn't because of a leaky valve cover... all that oil on a plug can short it out. Clean everything up really good, replace the plugs, and see how she runs.

Hesitation under acceleration can be a sign of very lean AFRs. Be very careful.

After inspection it looks like the valve cover needs some new seals, as for the hesitation i can't seem to duplicate it anymore, starting to think it was caused by something with the ecu, the motor runs normal now and appears to just have a oil leak near the oil filter. I have no idea how i can go from a smoked out car unable to stay running making horrible sounds to running with no problems only hours later with good compression.

Good heads up, gonna stick to the p06 just gonna have to understand the timmings before i burn the next rom, and the hesitation was under no load ( no acceleraion ) full throttle would barely keep the motor at 2.5k rpm and sounded like it was choking

LS rods fit? Are you serious? Huh, I'm going to look into that. What years/engines? Thanks Fook.

There's a post in hybrid/tech about this. there is much machine work to do to get LS rods in a d16
