Default Suggested pistons and rods for D Series turbo??

*HISTORY*
Spent a while chippin my ecu and setting up datalogging and rom burner and got everything to work. Burnt what was thought to be a baseline rom and started up my d15 vtec and started and ran what seemed to be stock. Sense my wideband didn't arrive yet i didn't make any modifciations to the rom. The rom i burnt was not the correct one, i think either timming was off or motor was runnin really lean/rich. After a few days of running the motor i noticed quick short hesitiations. Only lasted a split second ( think it was misfire not sure ). Took the car to redline a few times chasing around some co workers around afterwork and as soon as i came to a red light the motor wouldn't rev past 3k and was putting smoke everywhere and stalled. Started the motor back up and kept it revved till i could get it out the road, wouldn't go past 5mph. Pulled over let the car sit and cut the jumper on the ecu to put it back to stock. Cranked the motor and it started up SOUNDING LIKE SHI but started. Car runs somewhat like normal now but with a lot less power and intake sound has a deeper tone to it... One of these cylinders are blown to ----. Pulled the #1 spark plug and noticed oil on the plug, 2,3,4 where ok. I tihnk its the rings but not fully sure, gonna do compression test tommorow. drove the car home and started makin plans to rebuild the motor for the turbo i was planning on installing the next few weeks.

*Lookin For*
I got a d15 jdm vtec stock and instead of buying a replacment motor for cheap i think i should build a motor to handle the turbo i want to install. thinkin what you guys would suggest for building a sohc block to handle 10-15 psi.

So far i'm thinking of getting
low compression pistons
aftermarket rods
arp headstuds

You guys suggest anything for this setup or cheap places for parts?

you might look into getting an a6 or z6 block so you have more rod choices.

yeah, p08 d15 compatibility sucks monkey ****.

get yourself a d16 block first, then you can just snag a set of tunertoys rods and srp pistons or something like that.

i've been using p06 ecu from before i swapped the motor. Was told it would run with no problems. Could using the p06 instead of the p08 be the reason for motor issues instead of the rom?

Also looked for some pistons for this motor and saw this page listing the jdm motor as having

http://www.totaljdm.com/index.cfm/fu...dm_engines.htm

1590cc (SOHC VTEC)

Horsepower: 125hp@6600rpm
Torque: 106lbs-ft@5200rpm
Compression: 9.2:1
Bore: 75mm
Stroke: 90mm

isn't this the same bore and stroke of any d16 block? I would think i should be able to use the same rods and pistons for both.

I wasn't talking about ECU's when I said p08. I was talking about engine internals of the d15b.

bottom line, d16 internals will not fit your d15. The rods are different lengths.

Also, I've side by side compared a p08 (d15b) piston to a p28 (d16z6) piston. The wrist pin sits lower in the p28 and the overall piston height is taller as well. Result...using a p28 piston on a p08 rod will make your pistons stick outta the block.

i hear ya, just want to make sure everyeone is talking about the d15b jdm pistons and not the d15b7 non vtec pistons, but doesn't matter i just ran into another specs page that once again gave me diffrent specs for the jdm motor which goes with what everyone else is saying so i'm thinkin motor swap... yet again...

Did a compression test and i'm getting 195-185-190-200. These numbers good? Noticed the nasty sound i was hearing is comming from underneath the car and underhood sounds normal, went for a test drive and the motor feels and drives like normal, idles fine and the puny sohc power seems to be there. Poped the hood afterwards and noticed a light oil burning smell/smoke from behind the intake manifold, starting to think i somehow got tons of oil from the back of the block on the exahust making all the dam smoke i saw yesterday and somehow messed up the exausht, but this doesn't explain why the motor was in horrible limp mode and stalled the night before. I'm clueless here, don't even know what to look for.. Suggestions?
