Default Subaru XT turbo

Does any one know what turbo came on early subaru XT's? I'm talking 85-86 models. I know it's an IHI, and I think it might be an IHI RHB5 of some sort but I can't find ---- to confirm that. Theres one at the yard near me and it has little shaft play. Wondering if it's worth grabbing.

If I didn't need a snail for my setup I'd sell it to you. It's hard where I am to find stuff right now, everything is covered in 2 feet of snow

I went back there for a turbo off a volvo only to find th entire motor in it gone.

what can be done to the ihi rhb5 is hyrid the compressor side from a ford/merkur 2.3L.

Well I ripped it out today and I have the turbo sitting in my room. not in bad shape. little shaftply in and out but nothing going around. I just wish it had the 4 bolt inlet on the exhaust side rather than the goofy 3 bolt subaru flange. Oh well. I'll make it fit. HMT time

In and out shaftplay isn't a good thing...means thrust bearings are shot usually.

The Mustang SVOs and Merkurs had T3s - you've gotta find an 87-88 Thunderbird Turbocoupe for the little IHI.
