Subapoo TD04 good deal?
I've been offered a subaru impreza TD04 with 30k on it. The dude wants £110 which is about 1 trillion dollars (thanks to your shitty exchange rate), or $200 roughly. Do you reckon this is a good deal? I have the option of viewing the turbo before purchasing.
I'm only aiming for 180-190whp from a boosted z6 i'm guessing it must be a fairly realistic target on this turbo. But will it be too large for a lag free DD.

when you consider the low miles and likely great condition it's worth it. most people get td04 or td05 from dsm's for half that, but they are usually questionable regarding seals and miles. a rebuild one ends up costing you the $$ and time installing it and then removing it for the rebuild.

Yeah, 30k on the turbo is a good deal. Over here the only turbo cars we get are european, so no dsm's etc. oh and the odd rice wagon.
I've also been offered a vf12 from a subaru legacy which i understand has the ability to provide more power, should i ever get round to having a built engine. This has 50k on it and is a bit cheaper

i had a tdo5 on my car b4 and yesterday i switched to a tdo4 to see the difference, the tdo4 spools up nicely, but the tdo5 kicks harder. i just don't like when im normal driving you hear the turbo with the tdo4, i like to creep up on people .......and yeah the is kinda alot for the turbo
