stuck exhaust housing

stuck exhaust housing
Hey, what do you guys do when you have an old turbo and the exhaust housing is stuck on the center section? most of the bolts broke out, I have no problem re-drilling and tapping as I've done it alot, lol. This is a RHB5 so it's difficult to hit the backside of the compressor housing with a hammer. I was thinking of taking the shaft out of it and using a hydraulic press to puc the center section off the housing? What have you guys done?

You really don't want to take the shaft out because it is balanced and once you do that then it won't be. I mean this can be a harsh debate because it was already balanced and the same assembly is going back in, but I say not too. Get a torch and try to heat it up, or maybe soak it in PB Blaster, keep beating it around evenly to get it off.

Yeah I kinda want to avoid taking it out but if I do end up taking the shaft out, I'll do the old scribe a line and put everything back to where it was as best I can.
How would you go about indexing the turbo? I haven't heard of this before.
