Default Strange BOV

Ok... I'm using a 2nd gen (PLASTIC) BOV from a talon, etc... It's all of a sudden not making hardly any woosh... I can hear it, but it's hardly noticable.

Now.. I've got a buddy with an Eclipse GST and he's using the same one except his sounds like air brakes from a semi.. I mean it's loud as all. I'm thinking maybe it has something to do with the placement of the BOV because mine is so close to the throttle body. All he did was disconnect the hose from the BOV that connects it to the intake pipe. He hasn't touched the boost level btw

Are you running 11psi? Because he is from the factory. Could be a reason. or maybe where you drilled the hole on the pipe that the bov sits on top of too big?

youre buddy is prolly hurtin performance a lil, cuz the BOV on DSM's is setup as a diverter valve, that air he is venting to atmosphere so he can hear the sound has already been accounted for by the MAF. just food for thought...

Stock DSM bov's dont sound loud because the recirculate back to the intake pipe.

try this... go to the junkyard... get a car alarm horn.. gut it... drill a hole big enough to fit the BOV opening through it... and glue it with epoxy, JB weld, fiberglass or whatever.... then try it... it should be rediculously loud..
