Your stock Maf should work...but it depends on how big it is.
At a certain point it can't read all the air coming in accurately.
Maybe you need bigger injectors and sumtin' to control them or a FMU.
I got 2 friends running turbo's on there Swift Gti's with there stock Maf's

 

so you think a MAF from a v6 camry will do the trick because it is geared to get more air?

Yeah I would put the V6's MAF
it will be able to read more air coming in.
So you can boost higher

 

Can't you "hack" that car? I'm sure there is something out there that can fix this.

With a MAF you have no problem like Car's that run MAP's
You don't need to do nothing to boost.
Just put your turbo kit and fuel management and boost.
At a certain point when you reach the MAF's max range than you can go look for a bigger maf Like the V6 MAF.
Mine friend with the swift Gti runs 15 psi on his stock MAF.
