Hey whats up im in boise too! well actually in nampa but....i have a built and boosted y8 in my 93 4dr...

yea you have to jb weld the 4 "vacum injection" holes on the back of the intake mani...and im about 90% sure you have to take it off to do that....although ive never tried to do it with it on....that really sucks that you popped your motor on the 1st day!! and No and Hai at RevTech are good guys they wont do ya wrong...No is a great tuner...probably the best around our area thats for damn sure. (well i guess he is since me and him are the only freeware tuners in boise lol!) anyways good luck with it and hit me up if you have any questions or if i can help ya out!

I NEED HELP ! ! ! I took of my IM and plugged the four vac. leaks. i put everything back started it up idled kind of funny so i fixed that, then just for the ---- of it i took some carb cleaner and sprayed it in between the head and the IM . IT DID THE SAME THING AS BEFORE ! ! ! it somehow sucked it all in, i dont know why. is my gasket fucked up ?? looked good any ideas will be appreciated.
i got it partly tuned they said they cant tune it because of the vac. leak.

are you using the gasket that is for that version of the y8 manny w/ the air injection holes? if so i would use the gasket for the non air injection and also cap the nipple on the flange of the manifold as well as plugging the holes on the inside edge of the flange at the injectors.

im using the y7 gasket. I used the "right stuff" gasket maker to block of the four vac. leaks it said that its safe up to 450F, and I also blocked off the nipple with some hose and a screw. what kind of temp dose the IM see ?? is 450F good enough ?

im having the same problem right now. car pulls 10" of vacuum. I jb welded them shut, only on one side right now... but i dont know how its still leaking from there. im tired of buying intake manifold gaskets and coolant. pretty frustrating, im about to put the z6 manfold back on.

I just came back from RevTech, they said take it off again put a new gasket use JB weld and spray it with a copper something and also put some silicon around the ports. ---- ! ! ! anyone have any other ideas ??
