Stainless return line
Quick ?
What stainless return lines are best? I see some that have threaded fittings on the ends. Then I see some that have no threaded fittings and just slide over a ridged (almost like the ting you use to fix a busted water hose?) tapered piece, w just a clamp on it. Which is better? I would think the threaded kind at first, but then Im like fawk, that ---- can leak where the threaded part connects to the stainless hose! Currently I have a stock greddy kit rubber GANGSTER ASS return line on my ----, and it pours oil out to the point where i smell it on my ------- turbo. Comments on which is better? O0 |
Re: Stainless return line
The barbed fittings are fine as long as you use the correct size tubing with the fitting and clamp it with a hose clamp. The ones with the threaded ends already on them should be great as long as they were made properly. Either one should be sufficient. Barbed fittings should be a little cheaper and don't look as cool. There really shouldn't be that much pressure on the return line.

Re: Stainless return line
Advanced auto mr gasket braided barbed return ftw. $19.99.
A pimped out -10an setup would work fine too. Depends on how much you want to spend. Cheap fix for barbed fittings leaking=black rtv and round ring clamps. Not to be confused with clip clamps, t-bolts or worms..... |
Re: Stainless return line
I think I am going Fast Turbo lines, he said for black and silver ones its 70 shipped, and that comes w the part that welds to my oil pan (currently JB welded....funny thing? Its NOT leaking from there lol, but from where the rubber hose has eaten ---- on the turbo!) and the line/ end fittings....
I just want something that is NOT going to leak at all ugh. O0 |

StealthMode oil lines. Aint no muthafuckin comparison son. http://www.---------------------------/ |
Re: Stainless return line
Ive had really good luck with just 3/8" push-lok hose. Doesnt even need clamps, I put em on anyway though. Ive used it on my last 3 turbo car builds. Never had a problem. Never had a leak. Shits cheap as hell too. Asheville hose FTW!

Why are you hoping he reads a thread and asking for a price quote that you can get directly from his website?

His ---- works great, no leaks for 3 years now on my car. Also, if I sold Stainless lines on the net, I would search every forum i was a member of daily for new threads containing the word "Stainless" to promote my sales...imho that would be a smart move. But, that is just me though! :6 |

Stealthmode doesn't need to advertise since EVERYBODY KNOWS HIS ---- WORKS. The jizzmaster said it himself, statistically proven by statistics that prove it. |

Re: Stainless return line
Ok, I got bored enough to actually look in the FI forum. Here I am.
The drain line has no pressure, and that's why a barbed fitting/clamp drain is no less than the AN fitting drain. There are a couple reasons why I don't use AN fittings in my kit, and they all make sense. ^-^ -AN fittings cost more than Las Vegas Strippers. -Nobody can see how hot your drain line or strippers look when they're under the car. -AN fittings are not easy to assemble. Not for me, not for anyone. They're made tight on purpose. The amount of emails that I want to walk customers through on putting fittings together is zero. Especially when again, the drain line has no pressure and the barbs and clamps do the job fine. This would be different if every drain line was the same length. Then they could be pre-assembled before shipping, but they can't. My power steering kit is pre-assembled, and if I couldn't have it that way, I wouldn't offer it. -most automotive shops don't have the right AN wrenches to assemble the damn things, so backyard mechanics aren't any more likely too either. If you can afford to buy them to begin with, and get lucky enough to assemble them with a seal, you're sure to scratch the ---- out of them with standard wrenches. In which case, a fresh trailer park girl is better than a beaten Las Vegas stripper anyday. -Some of the tightest spots/shortest drains I've done would be a complete bitch to try to figure out that my drain line would need 2" of stainless, because that would be the only flexible part of the drain and if you don't have it dead on, it comes out fuxored anyway. And now the pros to AN fittings on your drain line: -If you assemble them right, the guy who changes your oil at jiffylube will be impressed. Hey, if you have the money and can get them together, they're great. As for when I designed the kit, I wanted it as inexpensive as possible, with 100% function, and easy to put together. If the guy selling AN fitting drain lines starts another company to offer non AN drain lines to compete with you, it's fair to say I got it right. Without the lack of customer service, it may have turned into something. lol. |

Re: Stainless return line
well, i REALLY wanted that mother fucker at Jiffy Lube to be impressed....but i am not ------- with installing some bullshit that I need special wrenches for, that sounds more difficult that necessary.
I will be rocking Stealths, cause they have more positives than a Thai hookers STD test. O0 |
