buy the car, fix it and sell it. make a few bucks on it.

There are many threads/arguements about it in the general discussion.

Also, check insurance rates. It's harder to get insurance on a salvage title, and I've heard that rates on the srt4 are high anyway.
ive got a salvage title on my rex and my insureance dident care.

I dont really think the insurance will care if you have a clean driving record. thats how they judge you. they dont know you, just your record. so if you have a shitty record, then you insurance will be crazy and high risk. if you have nothing on your record, it will be easy and cheap.

its funny how people who drive Civics and other Hondas have such ill will towrads Neons

I know this is HMT, but there are so many other cars out there to experience and spend money on rather than build some $10k dream used Civic

Nuff said.

I love the SRT4 ( minus the ricer wing ), but a salvage title cuts the price in about half, and the fact that its been wrecked reduces the value even more...

I saw a 04' red SRT4 with like 6K miles and optional side airbags for $18K, so your saving about 6K for a wrecked car with a salvage title...

I'm sure he has other people lined up to buy it, but that diesn't mean you gotta be that person to make a mistake.

Just keep saving your money and get an 04' in about a year that has like 10K miles on it for like $14K-$16K...

It's not what he can do with $10k in his civic, it's what he can do with $2k to his civic that will easily take that pile of "college girl car".

Buying a fast car doesn't mean anything. You just pay for it.

Since this is coming from a bunch of civic machanics, I'm not supprised that no one meantioned the SRT's 5 year warrenty... ( Of course the salvage title doesn't have it, and I hope he doesn't buy it ).

How many 13sec civics last 5 years ? The 13sec civics that have built motors ( maybe )..

Lets not even figure how much it would cost to PAY someone to do all the work on a turbo civic everytime it breaks...

If you don't like a 4banger that runs high 13's ( ideal conditions in the winter ) stock, has a 5 year warrenty, and has been "overbuilt" to handle at least 450hp ( so far ) then your either dumb or Jealous, I tend to think its the second one.......

I own a HMT D16 Civic, so... I'm not really bias... Not to meantion I've always hated neons ( not for the name, for the POS that they always were ).

If Ford built a 13sec new pinto and it was $15K, I'd buy it, if I saw everyone making 450hp easy and not breaking anything....

What's in a name ?

If not buying a neon because it runs high 13's (in ideal conditions), has a 5 yr. warranty , and is "over built" makes me jealous, than I guess I am. My $4,000 built D crx will run high 13's on drag radials at 10psi all day long. I guess I should have spent that extra $15,000 for the 5 yr warranty. :P

See, thats how fast it is. You don't even see it.

I guess I'm only speaking for myself, but 15k can go along way towards other things in life when your in the "HMT age" range. Cars aren't the only things that are needed in life. Turbo IS though.
