The SRT-4 stock turbo isn't too big for anyhting. The turbine housing is made into the manifold, so good luck with making it work.

Stock turbo next to a real turbo, just finished it up (not really blew an exhaust gasket on the dyno, still made 419 with a leaking BOV and an exhaust leak):

hell the 19t-td04 has a compressor way bigger the a 16g-td05 and is able to make more power then it's "MASSIVE difference" td05 yet being a td04.
compressor wise it's bigger yet turbinewise it's much smaller.

i know why. all because of "the pull" and we all know to trust the butt dyno.

Sure the larger compressor will make more power, but only until it reaches the backpressure limits of the more restrictive tdo4 turbine.
I have a tdo4 on my wrx. Even with the tiny 2 liter ej20 that comes in the car, the compressor looses everything above 4k. It's a quick pull from 1800rpm where it starts over the threshold, but the car would benefit greatly from at least a tdo5h/7cm^2 setup. It's a volitile (sp?) matching game...a larger compressor will only flow more cfm up to the limit of the turbine. A larger turbine with a smaller compressor will make the same cfm at a higher rpm to the limit of the compressor. To me it's always best to match the turbine to your engine first, then take a look at your compressor vs. engine cfm needs.

now this statment is quite true. tdo4 turbos really do lack in the turbine side of things. btw its all about vf34 power

but all this aren't created equal. the srt-4 15g compressor wheel is quite a capable wheel. srt-4 owners are making a reliable 300WHP with this turbo with just some simple boltons.

biggest problem of this turbo is the turbine side housing. it's WAY too small. the 6cm2 compressor housing is about equal to a .41 A/R from the T3 family.

most srt owners have the turbine wheel clipped and have the manifold ported for better flow through the turbine inlet. but doing this results in spool reduction. then again the srt-4 with a modified wastegate can make full boost 21psi at 1800 rpm.. so we know that the turbine wheel / housing is ezally the biggest restriction to an srt-4.

you know what i was just throwing those numbers out there. i have seen a few vr4 using the duel 15g as with it's twin capabilites. but instead use a non reverse rotation 15g version of this.

honestly the srt-4 isn't so gay. it's just everybody is so whinny that it comes with a gay manifold.

if it had used a regular housing, im sure many people would be using this turbo on their hondas.

Man I had some idiot former srt4 owner telling me my evo8 td05hr 16g6 9.8t turbo that I used on my accord was way smaller than an srt4 turbo. And LOL that evo woners upgrade their stoke turbo's with a stock turbo from an srt4.

I asked him about how well the srt4 O2 housing being one cast piece with the manifold fit on a 4g64 and he tried his best to pretend he didn't hear me.
I hate people that can tell you know more then them about something and they just throw out random bullshit like they know something.

Anyone here heard of K-series swaps? They are ------- sweet! I had a b-series and then I went k-series. and now im all about k-series. ------- k-series are soooo JDM. People are lyke pop your hood dude... im like no way man I dont want you to follow me home and try to jack my k-series man. And they are like man dude im not going to do that. I say okay man let me have your old srt turbo so I can throw it on my k-series. And he says okay dude here ya go it will bolt right in. I say ---- ya man it even has a manifold.. Bolt on power for the win. K-series for the win! Srt turbos for the win!
