What about the ngk step colder spark plugs for a y8? Is it all the same for hondas?

I believe the thread length is different, but I'm not positive. When you go to get spark plugs, just tell them to give you a set with the next highest number. For example, BKR7E-11 breaks down like this..."B" stands for thread diamter, in this case 14mm. "K" and "R" stand for the construction of the plugs, k standing for hex size 5/8" and projected tip (iso). R stands for resistor type. "7" is for the heat rating, the lower the number the hotter the plug, the higher the number the colder the plug. "E" stands for thread reach, in this case 19mm. "11" designates the gap, but since we're using these in turbo applications the gap number is pretty much useless.

11.5:1 B16 running 150 wet shot, using -9's, they finally listened to me and no longer melting plugs or gorund straps.

Interesting...what are the benefits of running these over the part# I posted? Non-resistor core?

shorter ground strap less likely to get hot and melt away.

This is coming from Tom Payn and Gary Rohe.

Normal reach plugs have a longer ground strap, it can't get heat away fast enough and starts melting.

Champions I used to run, Matt Patrick of ZEX/Comp Cams suggested them......

but the NGK's were better, I think I lost those pics when a 160 GB HD crashed.

Stock style plug, one step colder on 65 shot......



from when I tired 75 shot on OEM style plugs, 2 steps colder

Oh yeah, don't be afraid to try "american parts"

Mustang plugs and Ford 30 lb injectors, really worked for me. I'll looking for a cheap set of SVO 42 lb injectors for the D15B8 high compression build, gonna run it on E85.

I never had an issue with spark when I ran BKR7E (6097)...just buy more than you need. they can be a pain in the *** to get locally. 7 series can be picked up with a slightly different part number from a saab...but at least in my area, they are not always in stock
