Default THIS IS SOME WEIRD ----!!!!!!!!!!

ok, i have a b16a2 with t3 turbo .42/.48 with saab smic and vortech 12:1 FMU, the original problem i had was that when i started to drive my car is, i would get 7PSI all the way up to about 6200RPM and then my boost would start to decrease after that and by the time i got to 8000RPM my boost would be at like 1PSI, so no one really knew anything about why it would do that but i figured it was something to do with my wastegate becaue when i switched gears lets just say from 2nd to 3rd, the boost would go all the way up to 7 PSI and then it would immediatly fall all the way to 1PSI again, so i was thinking that the wastegate is staying open when i reach 7PSI and thats why im loosing boost, so i was thinking maybe it was the vacuum source and someone had said they were having a similair problem and that fixed it, so i cloged up the source on the turbo itself and ran the wastegate to the lines i was using for my FMU and BOV and boost gauge, so after that i went and i got some gas and then i started testing out my car and now the damn this is pinging like at 5000 RPM, and i have no idea what could be causing it, is it that the fmu isent getting anough pressue or is my car boosting more and i just dont know or did that god damn Liberty gas station rip me off, i know i pressed 93 octane button and it showed the right price per gallon but maybe it was fucked up or something, i have been battling with this problem for a long time and someone...anyone please help me, also, do i need to retard my timing for 7PSI? remember i am VERY deperate. if some one doesnt help me ....i'll....i'll.....BUY A FORD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

When you run the vac line for the wastegate to the manifold(or near it)your boost will increase.

You need a bigger turbo. That B16 needs a nice sized turbo for those high rpm pulls.

You shouldn't need to retard the timing. You could try retarding it 2 degrees and see what happens. You might have just got some bad gas or something.

i new i was getting more boost and i took my boost controller down to normal and i was getting about 5.5 PSI and it was pinging at 5200RPM, and i know my car revs high but surley that T3 must be able to push 7PSI up to 8000RPM, my friends eclipse's little t25 pushes his car to about 10 PSI buy the time it gets to 7000RPM, or is there something else involved in that?

Check for leaks.

That 42/48 T3 is like trying to feed a fat kid with a Mcdonalds kids meal.... :P

Pinging at 5200 now huh...Id take your base timing down 2-3 degrees. Be careful with it, my B16 managed to put up with a fair ammount of pinging (test runs), but it took its toll. #3 rings took a dump.

Your friends 4G63 was getting 10psi till 7k cause it doesnt breath nearly as much as yours does on the top end. Ever look at an eclipse dyno sheet? Torque starts to dump at 6000ish.

Try your best to find a 60/48 or 60/63 T3 and you will be very happy with it.
Good suggestion given to move WG signal line to the TB...

Good luck,
Dave

i know theres no leaks because originally when i have he wastegate lined to the source on the turbo its self the turbo would be at full boost from like 4000 to 6200, no leaks and then only after that would it start coming off a bit, someone told me it could be my intercooler leaking so i took it out and it was still doing the same damn thing, and would a hogher trim turbo be direct fit? would i have to modify down pipes or anything?

also could be why its pinging. At that high RPM you are working that little t3 so hard its making more heat then boost

perhaps the t3 is too small, but the real question is.. is why was my car able to rev to 6200 RPM at 7PSI and now it pings at 5000RPM at 5.5 PSI, riddle me that?
