some noob questions on my IHI (NSFW)
i recently inherited a IHI rb5 turbo...
i never dealt with internally gated turbos before...
here is my noob questions:
^^in this pic...the circled tube is cut..what is it? can i leave it cut?

you will have 4 holes in the turbo center cartridge. the two opposite each other (ie one on top, one on bottom) are you're oil feed and oil drain. the two banjo bolts next to each other are your water lines, water in, water out. by water i mean coolant.
the pictures are tough to see, can you get better pictures that do not cut off half of the object we are looking at?

those "water lines" are extra... remove them (no caps or anything, just leave them open) and never think about them again, your life will be that much easier...

all you need is OIL IN and OIL OUT... one will be smaller than the other, and they will be 180* opposite each other... the other two are the water lines, and as i said before = extra...

Dude you shouldn't be attempting to turbo any car if you don't know what oil/coolant lines are lol. RHB5 is tiny too. Your questions suck and your **** sucks even worse. WTF is up with that? I'd say take the time to learn your ---- before you ---- your car up beyond repair.

ive pieced together my own kit on my b series..
