SOHC max boost?
Alright guys, new to the turbo thing, I am running 5 psi in my d16y7 w/y8 head, stock internals. Running fmu, walbro 255lph, fpr, and a missing link. at 5psi it runs great, not lean, no pinging, timing at 14 btdc. Can I up the boost to 7 or 8 psi safely? It is a small greddy turbo-19t- with a side mount intercooler. plugs are bkr7e-11 gapped at .30. Any help or advice would be great. Thanks
Personally i'd run around 18 psi. its safe, just make sure you have your dizzy all the way advanced.

This ---- has been posted a million times.
Yeh because all this has been covered before .. and you're to lazy to search.
You should know by now that running a fmu and NOT CHIPPING YOU ECU and wanting to turn the boost up is obveously going to blow your engine
No hard feelings thats just my advice

I ran 12 psi daily on my motor, but i had a JDM D15b vtec, i dunno the differences of the internals, but yea if i were u i'd definitely get your ecu done, use chrome or uberdata. I think chrome is better (i used both). Get rid of the FMU too, I hear too many horror stories about those things.
i should know by now? I have been turbo'd for a week, and always had all motor cars, my bad. And I did search, for a while, but no motor set up like mine. Since I have higher compression due to setup, I wasnt sure. I will be dynoing and chipping the car next sunday, so that means I can rid of the fmu?? Like I said, I have never turbo'd a honda before, my apologies for being ignorant on the subject.
