I bought my ss autochrome mani before i heard the bad news. But i used to weld for a hydraulic shop and the welds on it seem to be pretty decent on mine. Its welded inside and out. There is also 2 re-enforcement brackets on the bottom. I really cant imagine this thing breaking but then again ive never put a turbo kit together before.
AC will definetely have to be removed though which pisses me off.
is there any special fittings i need to remove AC?

If you take your time, you can take all the under hood stuff off nicely... freon will leak into the atmosphere, i would go to an auto place.. they prolly wouldnt charge you much to take all your freon.. save the earth! just take your compressor off, and your condenser and should be good to go... be careful, so you can reuse it later or sell the whole setup.

I'd at least try to have it removed by a professional... I mean, it is a federal offence and probably not worth skimping on to save a few bucks. Once it's empty though, it's a piece of cake.

A buddy of mine is using it on his d series and we just got back from a mustang dyno and he made 203 whp and 175 lb/ft. He did alter the brackets and reinforced it a lot so it wouldn't crack but overall he's very happy with it!
