Default So HX35 and a B swapped CRX?

Anyone seen one squeezed into that cramped engine bay?

I am trading a guy my nitrous kit for an HX35 and an FMIC this weekwnd.

I have been looking around for some info and pics with an EF and this turbo slapped on a B series, but no luck so far.

Eh, nevermind. I found some. :P

It's unpleasant. If you don't go topmount AND small IC, the charge pipe exiting the turbo has to be passed *through* the driver's frame rail.

Heh, I haven't found any pics of an EF with a topmount and the Holset.

I was thinking about going that route, but I didn't think it would fit.

Edit that, I meant to say topmount OR small IC.

I believe Bryson has a topmount HX35, I could be mistaken.

Any way you go about it it's going to be tighter than a nun's ----. Depending on the style of top-mount depends on where you can run your charge pipes/dp. A traction bar and an EG rad is pretty much a must for this application. The only way I got my sc-61 to fit with some semblance of space was with a drag-style cast iron manifold and notched some webbing out of the block to nestle the turbo with the compressor facing the battery side. Charge pipes just went across in front of the mani and angled slightly and then down through the ac condensor hole and around to my fmic. It's a real bitch, and I'm guessing the hx-35 is probably bigger than the precision unit too. Hope you have a good welder...you're gonna be cutting and fabbing alot of ----.

Already have traction bars, so that won't be an issue. I was pretty much planning on running a half rad. All of the AC crap was pulled when we did the swap. I don't really want to cut into the webbing of my B17 block though. I guess I'll build one of the LS shortblocks I have laying around.

The cutting and welding won't be a problem either.

The major decision I have to make is whether I do this to the CRX or build up the rotting DA shell I have sitting in the back yard. I wanted to do a dirty turbo D, but I have way more B series stuff laying around. I think the A6 would be perfect, but I would have to build it pretty stout to even begin to spool that behemoth.

Pics HX35 EFs would be much appreciated.

Thanks for the pics.

I think the DA is going to get the turbo, but who knows.
