smoke coming valve cover
i was running my car kinda hard and it started to bogg when i slowed down. theres all of smoke. i open the hood and theres smoke coming out the valve cover release filter. is it bad rings? or broken pistons?

Take your dipstick out while the car is running. If you see smoke commin out then your rings are fucked. Or, do a compression test. If any of the cylinders have low numbers, pour a bit of oil in there. Run the test again, and if compression numbers go up than that also means your rings are fucked.

Most likely rings, BUT do you have your pvc system hookup up? You could be getting some made blow-by. I posted a pic of how a pvc supposed to look like on a turbo honda (pretty much like the dsm setup).
Check compression and answer my question, then we will know.

Thats what happens when you dont hook up a line from the valve cover breather prot to the turbo inlet(just suction,no boost)....blowby p0wN3z you!
I think thats why rings blow.You need to equalize internal engine pressure by sucking out the air out of the lower end.
Albert have you removed that "super sequential" breather filter yet?

My pcv system is stock.
You only need a catch can if your running more than 6psi or so IMO.Or it depends on where on the turbo intake pipe you tap it to.The further form the turbo inlet the less oil it will suck out of the valve cover.
I need one now that I decided to run 10psi dailey .
