Smallest turbo that is readily available used?
I am needing a very small turbo, what is the smallest that can be semi-readily found used and what vehicle(s), and/or engine(s) does it come from? Maximum mass flow rates needed for the power goals will be around 17 to 18 lbm/min.

Re: Smallest turbo that is readily available used?
depends on how small. the TT 3000gt's have pretty small turbos

Re: Smallest turbo that is readily available used?
It's going on a 500cc engine that will turn up to 11K rpm. The GT12 and GT15 garrets would be fine but I'd rather spend a bit less. 17 to 18 lbm/min is a very small mass flow rate. What type of turbos are the stock 3000gt units so I can find compressor map and check if they will fit this application.

I had a VW Bug turbo that was pretty damn tiny, not really worth putting on the car.

Heres a good site with a few MHI and garrett compressor maps and other stuff that we should know but few care about. http://www.stealth316.com/2-3s-compflowmaps.htm#fm |
Re: Smallest turbo that is readily available used?
it may be but on the compressor housing it just says TDO5

Weight should be around 250 lbf, power goal is 125 max at the crank.
