Re: size question
I have the 7.25psi(.5 bar) spring in my wastegate...I see around 6-6.5 on the gauge, sometimes it'll spike up to around 9 or 10 on a colder day...My best time so far(have been to the track with it 3 times) has been a 14.5 @100mph...My sixty foot time sucks though, 2.4 seconds

Re: size question
your driving>mine...I'd be ALOT quicker with a 1.9 60'...I'm not sure about my elevation, I'm in south GA, so it can't be too high...I'm not gonna make excuses I just need ALOT of seat time. And if I launch my car at 3500 rpms(which is a good launching point from what I've read) the car spins 1st, 2nd, and the clutch is slipping in 3rd. My car is at full weight(no sound system or anything, though) I have a stronger clutch on the way, and I plan on getting the car on the track quite alot this year.

Re: size question
you are launching way too high. i never went over 2400 on the launch and i rode it out. find you a nice parking lot somewhere and just practice launching. start low, and go higher until you start getting wheel spin.
where in s. ga? i am going to tallahassee fl next week for about a month.

i mean the new cobalt ss has a launch controll feature witch you turn off the tcs,put in first, step on the clutch, bury your right foot on the throttle and hold it there and the engine will come up to 5100rpm and then when you want to launch just dump the clutch they have proven that it is the fastest way to launch with controlled wheel spin, and it has 260hp (about 230 at the wheels) also you can't just go to a parking lot and practice launching because parking lots will always be slippery compared to the drag strip (all the rubber and htc on the track)
i say get a launch box when you go turbo that way you can build boost on the line and it will launch the same way everytime, and remember controlled wheels spin don't just take off like you do on the street (especially in a honda of with a turbo because the engine will bog down and you will loose all power for enough time to kill your run by a second or more)
and i say if your rev limiter is 6250 then launching at 3000-3500 should be perfect then ride it out like that slipping the clutch for about 10ft and in that 10ft you go from just enough throttle to bring the revs to about 3000rpm to wide open (again in the distance of 10ft don't just floor it you will just spin the tires if you have a bit of power or will drop engine speed to low and either get out of the boost of just loose power) then you should get pretty decent 60foot times, and if you get good 60's you will have good et's
also 12's are not eastily attainable without traction period i really don't see it doing 12's in street trim (tire wise) but it's not impossible just think outside the box

Re: size question
my 2400 rpm launches netted me repeated 1.9 60's all day long. the qr is to torquey to really launch above that. it blows the tires away. i have tried from 3500 down and 2400-2500 was the best launch in this car on street tires period.you cant really argue a 1.9 in a fwd on street tires. but everyone is different, car is different and tracks are different. i was just trying to tell him to bring his rpm down a lil, cause he is coming into boost while he is spinning, giving a horrible 60' time. cspecrun's car is capable of mid- low 13's at a good track with a good driver. and anyone can be a good driver with enough practice.
i know the parking lot is different, but repeated launches will give you a feel for the car, when you get the "feel" of it, you can make adjustments to your technique on the fly while you are actually doing it.

Re: size question
I think I can launch the car at 3-3500 rpms with a good clutch on the car and some drag radials. Me and a friend have been talkin' about fabbing up some tractions bars too. But with the condition of the clutch on the car now, I get best results launching around 2-2500 rpms. I really need to turn the boost up as well. I'm gonna do a "mild" engine build this year and try to run at 12psi SAFELY(hopefully that'll be good for about 325hp).
