Size help - .50 A/R Compressor, .63 A/R Turbine ?
Could someone briefly explain compressor and turbine size in relation to engine size and/or type of use? I am looking for something ideal for a 2.7litre 4 cyl 4x4. daily driven and used for sand dune/hill races. no towing so i really need boost available really low in the rpms. i will probably be boosting around the 10psi range and maybe up to 15psi if i decide to go that route.

the higher the compression is, the more power you will be able to get out of that turbo. the higher the turbine, the longer its takes to spool up. with the .50/.63 ar, you will wait forever for it to spool, and probly lose some top end power. are you sure you didn't read those numbers backwards?

isn't this going into the tacoma or whatever? i've never driven one of those, but isn't the gearing on those really short, don't they redline really fast. this is just a question, i'm only used to s10s or rangers, and they suck ***

sorry for any confusion or if i came off like i was trying to correct you about the size of the turbo. i was just stating it so there wasnt any confusion about what i was reading. the gearing is fairly short dependant upon what model, yes, but they also have a lot larger diameter tire than your average car (33" for mine)
