SIMPLE for you all.....selection questions

So I'm thinking of going turbo with my D16y8 in a 89 Si hatch.

Im curious to know if the T3 is a good start turbo for stock internals?

Which t3 would be best for me the 42/48 or the 60/48?

What are the stock psi on those turbos?

Should I go to the 14b?

Whats the stock psi on the 14b?

What diameter charge pipes should I run?

Thanks for the help guys

go w/ the 14b if ur gonna keep stock internals.... it spools fast..... internal wg set @ 10 psi (fully open)

built block.... t3 48/60 or t3/4

isnt it set at 8psi, not 10!? anyways, get the T3 42/48. that what i got in my d16a6 and it just rips the tires loose once boost hits, even cruising in 2nd!! i think my wheel trim is bigger than the regular saab/volvo t3's. either way, i think its a very good turbo for the D!! mine has very slight lag and then BOOM, that ---- just rips loose! i love it ;D

Where did you get your manifold and downpipe?

What size charge pipes are you running?

Any hp/tq #?

Thanks man

t3 42/48 seems to be the leader.

Where might i be able to purchase an adapter plate for the t3 to use with the STD manifold?

OMG... not this again!!!!!
ok... i tested the wastegate on the turbo w/ compressed air w/ a regulator and a gauge... it starts to open at 8 and is fully open at 10.

for the adapter plate.... BMC sticky in the for sale section has them.... good quality!

Re:SIMPLE for you all.....selection questions

in your opion is 10 psi to much to run on stock internals

i will have injectors, fuel pump, fpr, hondata

Re:SIMPLE for you all.....selection questions

run it... if your unsure about 10 psi you could alwas get a different WG w/ a lower psi rating!

if u got hondata.... i wouldn't worry bout it... just tune the hell out of it!
