Default Side mount manifolds

I recently saw a post of this amazing turbo header. the wastegate setup is a little overkill, but I love the side mount turbo. Then I found out the price Let's just say that selling my car wouldn't cover the cost of this custom setup.

So, anyone here make side mounted turbos? obviously it has equal length primaries and they are using a merge collector (S&S Headers maybe?) to which they've welded a 90deg pipe and a turbo flange.

Wow! that sticks WAY out on the passenger side. Does it fit in the engine well with the ABS no prob?

Still, very nice. Do you sell those, Jeff?

No, these are both race manifolds and not really for daily driving... unlike the one you posted..

Not for sale,

ABS? who uses that

I can make you one and I'm sure I could beat the price you saw but you are looking at around $600 just in parts to copy this manifold. you can not make these out of regular stainless elbows(304)unless it has not been annealed. you need to use 321 stainless to insure that it won't crack and it is about $60.00 for one small u-bend. unless you can find formed elbows in 304. the problem is the heat treating process that allows you to bend 304 stainless is what causes it to expand and crack under high heat situations.

all that to say that you could make it out of mild steel 11 gauge tubing and ceramic coat it for way less than the 321 with similar qualities.

I might just make one to show off

YIKES, $600 just for the parts Out of my league (though certainly less than these guys wanted).

Q: I've seen 304 steel used in headers a lot. Is it because these have less aggressive bends that they work, or are turbo applications hotter? Just curious.

You should definitely make one out of mild steel 11 guage if you can. Showing off is what its all about!

I was talking about all of the material in 321 stainless flanges and all.

I dont remember what type of stainless my manifold was made in.. He gave me 2 choices, and I went for the more expensive of the 2. The flanges are all stainless, except for the turbo flange.

My ZC plate was 50, and the Tial plate came with the valve.

We still need to make a support for it.
