Screamer?
Hi all. I'm planning on running a screamer pipe from my T25 (so there'll be two pipes - the downpipe from the turbine and totally seperate pipe from the internal w/g) . All the cars I've seen with screamer pipes had external w/g's. Is there any reason why I can't use a screamer with an internal w/g? What does a screamer pipe sound like in use? I don't want the car to sound annoyingly loud. If someone could point me to a vid of one I'd be much obliged.
Also, what is it that gives that 'chattering' wastegate sound? Is it an external wastegate, or just having an open cone-filter? Or something else?

Lol, the chattering you speak of is compressor surge, which will destroy your turbo eventually. You can get it by not using a BOV
What you refer to as a "screamer" pipe we call open dumptube. Sure you could use it for an internal wastegate, although I don't see a point to doing so. Depends on your setup, but some people refer to the sound as a lawnmower engine.

You can do it with an internal gate, it's just a little harder to implement properly. You need to be able to seal the internal wastegate opening off from the rest of the exhaust.
If you want to run a screamer on internal wastegate just devide the exuast housing and weld up two separate pipes for it. One being the exuast and the other the factory internal wastegate port. Better still just leave the factory internal port open and just weld up a pipe for the exuast...And there you have a screamer on a factory wastegate

Yeh 100% correct it is extra work and probably way easier just to run an external.
