THE S-10 TURBO!! PICS!!! PICS!!!!!!! PICS!!!!!!!!!
Ya thats right guys it did its first burnout and it was the ---- the dam thing did a one wheel squeel for 2 telephone pole lengths(no joke) ;D ;D
the night before was drama night hitting 8lbs of boost with a back fire resulting in a hole in my exhaust mani ,next morning welded the ---- and hit the streets again only now to blow the custum turbo exaust housing gasket :'( havent fixed that yet havin to much fun turnin heads with a beat up 88 s-10 pickup with a open 8" long down pipe screemin turbo spool through my little quiet town of old folk! from the new leak (backfire #2) in exhaust mani im only getting a consistant 5lbs of boost but i think its safe cuz i have no fmu on it yet ;D just alot of octane booster ;D but then you allways have ur little probs like now im having charging problems and today after a burnout at my friends house had no pedal return, after a 15 minute drive home(which usually takes 4)because i had to idol the whole way i found that sum how my throttle cable had melted to the mani! Well thats about it ill update when i get an FMU and more boost to play with ;) |

all i have to say is wow, i though i was having a tough time with my kit. ---- it, i guess that's the price you pay for hmt, and not a kit, worth it imo....

LOL, that is the ----. It reminds me of my friend in high school who always borrowed his dad's ugly ass "seafoam" color s-10 and did one wheel burnouts in it all day long. Props on truly going where no one here has gone before (or wanted to)

Back firing? Melting ----.. all this is happening because you have NO FUEL management. WHich would mean you are running REALLY lean, meaning REALLY hot. Get something on there QUICK.

What the ---- happened my turbo fried before the motor blew??? all i have to say iz that the ---- has massive shaft play and the finz started to shave into the housing any idea out there why this happened? I had sufficient amount of oil pressure? I had good oil quality!!! Could it be becuase the turbo came off of an engine that was only 2.0L and mine is a 2.5 and the amount of work it takes to build up to desired amount of boost would be harder to acheive in the larger engine and the turbo may have simply over boosted? or am i just being dumb and the ---- didnt have enough oil pressure because the banjo bolt only had one hole in it?

How do you know the pressure was all good? How was the turbo mounted? It still could have been running too hot. Any crap in it? What condition was it in before you put it on the S-10?

BEFORE IT WENT IN THE SHAFT HAD NO PLAY WHATSO EVER AND NO CRAP IN IT and it was mounted like stock location, and i know the pressure was all g because i tested it without the turbo on and the hose loose and the ---- shot out like mother and could not hold the hose in your hand was simmilar to a fire hose with all the firemen riding it like a giant snake!! The only thing is out of the five or six times i ran the thing i only let it spool down for under a minute :-[ you guys think maybe the hot oil got caked on the shaft and threw it outa balence the next time i ran it?? or is my theory about the 2.0 vs the 2.5 overboost thing a better reason why the ---- burned?? i am clue less on why this happened.
i would like to learn from my mistake that way it wont happen again if and when i find another turbo! I might be setting up a deal for a chrysler leberon turbo is this a good unit or doots?? |

as for engine management. thats a snapp. a pin swap and diffeent ECM a $75 prom burner and a used up ass laptop and whamo you can be doing your own EFI programming using all the stock running gear.
Where is this s10 located. as for the turbo dying. did it haven sufficient oil volume and pressure ? |
