Default rust in charge piping? WTF?

So i took my pipes off last night so i could replace my couplers and i noticed that i have rust in my piping, not just a little either it's crazy!!!!! Is this common, i just bought these pipes off Egay a few months back and they looked really nice when i bought them, coated inside and out but my the insides are rusted. So question 1, is this normal? question 2 were can i buy some nice piping that won't rust and thats mandrel bent for my car.

I painted mine inside and out with 500 degree paint and stuck them the oven on broil for a 1/2 hour or so. The only tough part is getting the paint all the way inside the pipes. Easy if thier short...tough on the longer pieces. They never have rusted at all. DON"T get too much paint in the pipes, it may flake off of there is too much. Just enouph to seal 'em up on the inside.

Trying making your piping from a material that doesn't rust... aluminium or SS for example

or get a bad leaky turbo that will nicely coat the inside of your IC piping with engine oil.

I went to true value today and found a 10' chunk of 2" EMT for $25, I know 2" is a little small but I have a D15b7, and the turbo is a little big so hopefully the smaller charge pipes will help it boost a little faster. EMT is galvanized and used for conduit, the walls are real thin. 2" will also be nice because I have a bender that will bend it.

Ya know, some guy asked this on another forum, and i suggested aluminum not only for the weight savings, and heat dissapation, but also for this exact reason and they flamed me (I use 2.5" aluminum piping on my setup)..

There is just a kind of gratification when you find out that your thinking is valid. Sorry to hear about your issue, but i would go with aluminum pipes man. Still.

Xtra points for whoever can guess where they said this problem "will never happen"....
