RPI Racing Project CRX...
Soooooooo close, yet ever so far away... Some of you know about this car, others don't (been a while since i've posted here), but for those that don't, this has been an ongoing project that started about 3 years ago, then took about a 2.5 year break... we just started working on this a few months ago, and this was this cars very first road trip... it had just been finished being built the morning before this event.
Anyway, we worked through the night on Wednesday night to get this car ready for a dyno session on Thursday, so that we could get the car racing for the weekend. Well, we drove up to see the tuner for the car, and unfortunately, the timing wasn't quite right, and we weren't able to get the dyno session in... However, we did get it ready for its debut appearance. We went down to Moroso Motorsports Park in Palm Beach, Florida for the 'Sport Compact Hurricane Nationals'. Originally, we were supposed to be racing the car at this event. But, due to the previously mentioned dyno issue, we weren't able to do that. So, i instead decided that it would be a good idea to at least take the car, and represent our shop at a Florida race.
I met up with one of my good friends Mario, at his house early in the morning, to load up some stuff, and meet up with him and a few of his friends... if we're going down there, may as well have a 'crew'... LoL... Here are the pics from his house... also, the first pics of the car on the 'net with it completely together *drum roll*........................
On the way up, we happened to come across this sign in Palm Beach....
At least they give their food high priority... LoL..
We got to the show, and had a great time... there was a strip club down there that we will DEFINATELY be hitting up again every time we go there... LoL. Also, we have the best little hole-in-the-wall italian restaurant in the world... family owned and operated, and it has the BEST Italian food i've had in a looooong time Anyway, here are some pics of the car from the show....
And finally, got her back home.... this shot actually shows pretty good the color transition from 'in the light' to 'in the shade', and how ot goes from a bit of a copper color, to a nice red color...
Enjoy!
