Default Rotating compressor housing?

Do you want to turn the compressor housing or the turbine housing for clearance issuse? Does it matter how much your rotate it or as long as the oil return it striaght up and down?

mostly the reson u rotatre either housing is to do just that make shure the in is on top and the out for the oil is on bottom or sometimes like with my setup the out was on top and the in was on bottom when i mounted it to my addapter plate. also if i remember correctly the compressor outlet was pointing directly back at my block well that wasnt going to work either so i had to rotate that housing also.and just a side note the oil in and out dont have to be perfectly strait up and down...but obviously pointing down enough for the oil to drain suficiently

no it won't, you can take off both housing and turbo will still spin.. the housing just like a cover and for air to flow

the turbine and compressor wheels are still bolted.. now if you unbolt those and then open, then you'll make it off balance and also you break the oil seals.

and also, get ready to use box wrenches and a lot of swear words.. especially on the exhaust side... you might even have to grind down a box wrench or the turbo.. i couldn't fit my wrench on one of the bolts....

yea adjusting is a bitch... just keep flow in on top and drain on bottom, you can adjust the compressor side easier ive found, so go with that

I bought a pair of snap ring plyers from www.harborfreight.com, they were like $11 for 2 of them.

That is one BAD *** snap ring for sure !!

Keep in mind that the compressor housing being rotated and the exhuast housing not being rotated is going to cause some issues with your wastegate lining up, unless you have an external WG..

of course im speaking from the real heavy racers choice of an external wastegate, and yes clock the exhaust housing to keep ur internal wastegate actuator lined up if u want to use it, i recommned external for sure for many reasons if you dont already have one

May 9sec buick V6 car uses internal WG's... But your right, the external is better, just a PITA for homemade kits that are cost effecent ( I have about $150 in my set-up as of right now, prob. $300 total ).
