Default rings rings and more rings

Just wondering if i should save a few bucks and just use factory honda rings instead of molly ones for my srps with stock bore?

Remember that the rings may be going through a lot of psi and heat throughout their lives.

Ericks racing uses oem rings on their race engine. Though, this is a race engine and not a daily driver but , he always makes the good point of they will be at factory specs. so you wont have to like i did and have to file the other rings down. That was a pain in the ***. But i think oem and the srps cost about the same. Hope i helped.

Yes this is true , je gives different formulas for your application when you get the rings.tighter in n/a and looser on fi . But in the end i filed them to oem specs theres just something about oem specs. i trust. My two centavos. :P

id figure moly faced for break in. then a ductile for strenght. the stock honda rings are great for lasting 300k miles. but there a bit brittle from what ive seen for a forced induction application. also figure that if the factory gap is like say 0.018 then youd typically want to open it up 2-3 for a mild turbo apllication and for all out boost i really recomend going 4-5.

je will most likely tell you the same thing
