rewelded re-enforced ssac manifold ??

I got a ssac type manifold for a cheap trade with someone, don't know if it's ssac or whatever, but same crap. I was thinking with some good bracing and re-enforcement as well as getting all the welds re-enforced, then it might be ok. What do you guys think? is it the welds that crack, or the runners? I plan on running about 275+ 300 max whp on a d16, with a .42 .48 probally. So anyone actually use one of these, or try to re-enforce the welds on these? Or am I just a little off my rocker cuz its so late, wouldn't be a first.

if you take special care with the welds, and make sure to brace and re-enforce it properly i think that it make a really nice coat rack to hang you coats on.

why would you reweld a manifold. just weld a new manifold up. and your turbo is waaaaaaaay to small for your goals :y

waste the the money on that crap then end up buying a hf or log manifold in the long run

Well since nobody answered your questions... I will

Will it work if you brace the ---- out of the manifold? absoultly

Will you make 275-300whp on a D w/ a small ass T3? No

Just brace it good, the material of the manifolds is super thin, so I'd suggest making a brace from the block to the turbo.

thanks abaz, I know that once I am over 230-250 hp I am quite past the effeciency of the turbo. I was originally thinking 240 ish, but have been realizing that the engine should be able to handle more with some internals, so I am still not sure if .42 .48 will cut it. I have seen 300 ish with like 16-18 psi, and I plan on vitara's and some forged rods, with at least 250 whp. instead of running 16 psi on a small t3 you guys think some thing bigger is needed?

.63/.60 wouldn't be bad. 57trim t3/t4. You have many options, but even .48/.60 might be better; however, I see that dying out 270ish. You have lots of choices and your current one isn't the best.

I've thought about doing the same thing with the SSASHIT mani. Like they said, just make a really strong brace to the block and it should be fine...Also, at least go with a 48/60 if you're shooting for 250+whp. Good luck man and let me know how the manifold works for you please.
