has anyone reused a oem head gasket on a b series? i know it is not the best thing but the gasket is only a week old, i have arp head studs and will coat it with copper spray.

 

I've always been a firm beleiver that you should always replace your head gasket after its been used, however I have seen beau reuse his stock b16a headgasket like 3 times and it has never blown out on him. The first time I reused a headgasket it blew 3 days later, but it probably could of been because it wasnt tuned that great. Since then I have tried re-using a head gasket on a stock D16z6 and it worked just fine.

So I say, its kinda iffy... sometimes it works sometimes it doesnt

 

whats an extra $65 to ensure you wont have to go through all of the time and extra money if it DOES in fact blow,cheap insurance if you ask me.

i have reused a 3 layer steel head gasket (mls) on a d-series turbo before, worked fine but i wouldnt reccomend it

 

I never reuse the bastards, to much work for 50.00

so where is everyone gettting teh $50 gasket cause acura here wants $120 and napa wants $88 for some off brand. i would spend $50 but $120 sucks is there a web sit that sells oem gaskets for $50
