Default Removing turbo questions

Ok. If I take the turbo off for service or something.. will I need to drain my oil? I'm wanting to change my adapter plate. So just wondering what this would involve.

take drain off and drain the oil outta it.. prolly nothing if its been sitting. otherwise just unbolt it
