Remove the Housing off of a T25 turbo

Does anyone know how to remove the housing for the air pump and exhaust off of a T25 turbo? I wanted to get the center out so I could replace the bearings. I lossed all the bolts and tried to bang on it with a hammer but nothing happened.

if you got all the bolts off give it a few taps with a hammer while kinda holding the whole turbo in the air.
do this over a bench u dont wanna break the exhaust housing..

just keep working on it. like tap one side then the other.

Lots and lots of liquid wrench or PB blaster will help also... If it gets extreme, you could try a blowtorch (?)

good luck

I used a blowtorch when pulling mine apart... the trick is, to heat the ---- out of the exhaust housing without heating the "cartridge" in the center...

then after it's nice & hot as hell, a couple light hammer taps should seperate it...

installation is reverse of removal ;-)

I have never had to use a blow torch to remove the center section, put the exhaust housing in a vise, (remove the ring/bolts) and use a hammer to hit the backside of the compresor, be sure to not let it hit the ground though ::)

I got the exhaust housing off but what about the air pump, the same way? Just hammer it off.

on a mitsu T25 (from a 96 up talon/eclipse) a big snap ring holds the cold side on, so you'll need a large snap ring plier.
