RED VALVE COVER - TYPE R STYLE
Hi, I was wondering if anyone knows of a technique to properly paint your valve cover to that nice lightly textured red color, like the real type r valve covers have? And then How do you remove the paint from the raised lettering and polish it?
Any info or sites would be great.

thanks.

i had mine sandblasted, painted(exterior commercial aircraft paint), then used a razor to cut off raised portion of valve cover, they make crinkle/wrinkle paint that would give you similar texture of a typeR valve cover

The best way to get those shiny letters is to take a disc sander and lightly tap the top of the letters after its painted.
Use any high temp paint.
Texture? Home Depot has cans of "orange peel" spray texture, but I wouldn't do it.
